Magnetic Rear black out panel - got mine!
#22
I gotta say I was a little bit apprehensive before mine arrived. I'd seen a few neg comments about these panels. Now that I've had mine on for a couple of months I'd have to say it's a nice visual mod for $40. No problems that I can see. I just peel it off once in a while and wipe the back of it clean. I was walking up to my car today, and was thinking that it looked pretty trick on the Torch Red.

Stoenr, looks great, where did you get yours and do you still like it after several months??
The linked to thread above is a deadlink...
Is this the $40 dollar version from 50 resto, which I guess is also late model restoration???

It's a pretty decent piece, I had one on my VB all last summer and people couldn't tell it was a magnetic piece unless I mentioned it or pointed it out. Water does get behind but it's pretty easy to clean behind there. You have to fiddle a bit to get it back in place but once you get the technique it's no problem. I was pretty aggressive with mine putting it back on and what not and it never cracked or
gave me any issue. I only took it off because Winter was coming. I now have the SHR panel coming in, the look grew on me. For $40 it's a decent mod and if anything just helped me decided that I did in fact want a more permanent blackout be it paint or otherwise.

Mine just came in yesterday. I had no idea it was glorified refrigerator magnet!! But I suppose that is good, as it will lower the profile. I guess I had thought it would be a panel...
Now I just need my car....

I actually put mine on the fridge for a day to let it flatten out.

I did the fridge thing as well. LOL. Great mod for the money really makes the back stand out especially on the white.
