Magnetic Rear black out panel - got mine!
#1
I received my magnetic black out panel f/ nyyankee.
It looks great! The black finish is not too shiny or too dull. It is more of maybe a satin black - just the right color.
The fit around the fake gas cap is snug. There is no way any color can show around it. The fit quality around the rest of the panel is "just right" too. The back side kinda feels soft - so the likelyhood of scratching is nil ESPECIALLY if you clean both surfaces before installation.
I had my rear panel blacked out previously with a vinyl decal. It looked "ok", but you could see flaws in that. The Magnetic black out panel looks more like a factory accessory. Plus ANY moron can install it.
I have heard of people being worried about theft??!! Well, a potential thief has to 1st know that it is a removable item (not likely), 2nd, he would have to be in the "market" for a black out panel (not likely), and your car would have to be parked in a s**tty area. (not likely-I hope)
Anyhow, I very highly recommend the Magnetic Black out panel. It is very inexpensive to buy and try out.
Pics will come as soon as I can get some decent wx.

yes pictures would be beneficial. And how about some prices too. and is it possible for water to get in between the panel and the paint? would this cause problems?

Well it has been a year since your bought yours. ( I was doing a search and found this post) Are you still happy with your magnetic black out panel? Do you have any problems with it? How is it holding up? Any problems with the paint behind the panel? etc.... Your info would be greatly appreciated before I (or anyone else here) buys one.

I bought one of these and was not very happy with it, It had bubbles inbetween the vinyl and the magnet, and the seller refused to replace it. Also, water does get behind it, and you do need to remove it to wash and wax behind it. Repeated removal caused the magnet to crack around the emblem.
I'm having mine painted satin black back there!
