Very nice one-off! I agree the Bullitt grill would work even better, but I'm guessing that our solution will end up costing less than hacking up OEM grills off of a limited-production car knowing thier price structure...
We're waiting on Ford right now... as soon as they come back with the files we need, we'll move to the next step.

Marcello how much time till you might have something ready to be sold? 30 days? 60 days? I've been putting off doing my own mod on this hoping someone would finally produce something. Please post as soon as you have something for our CS's, even prototypes.

Deric: Wow! Nice pix! There it is! Thats what I though my idea for the Bullitt grill mod might look like. But all the credit has to go to Water-Junkie for his first mod example of cutting down an existing GT grill! Outstanding work Deric! The very first company that makes this hotty looking lower grill, is going to make a prety bundle on all of us Stang crazies that have the GT/CS's or Shelby GT's. Marcello. Where are you guys at on your proposed version? And it sounds by their e-mail that SHR is planning to launch their own version very soon! If they make one just like the one in the picture, than its all over but check writing or plastic card thing! Because as everyone here knows their products are all as good as it gets in the Stang World. CalStang
The SHR model has vertical sections because they're inserts that snap into the lower grill that's already there, and of course the stock grill has the vertical slats.
It's normally six months from the time Ford gives us the information until we can put the product on the shelf. There's certain steps that just take time, and there is no short-cutting them if you want the piece to be right. We could do a quick and dirty job in 4 months, but it's just not us, even if it does cost a few sales in the interim.
As of today, I still had not seen the files from them, but sometimes it takes a little while. Patience is normally rewarded, and if we can make this part correctly, the price-point should be pretty good too
We'll keep everyone updated, as our GT inserts have proven very popular for the GT owners in the group (including myself!)

Well if they supply us the files, it makes life relatively easy on the desing side because there is no chance of us screwing up a critical measurement - plus it eliminates the possibility of taking measurements from one car that has a production variance from another - if you work from the OEM files to begin with, you get to start a lot closer to the finished product than if you have to reverse-engineer to the same point.
On the GT pieces - 05GT is right, they have the vertical bar on center because it's part of the factory piece, we snap into either side of it, and as anyone who has them pretty much can attest, the fit is like a glove. The fit and finish of the GT/CS piece should be equal in fit and finish, and look OEM like most other products we make so the non-Mustang people that see it won't even notice you did it
They'll just notice the cars that then don't have it.

That looks really good man
I took the Bullitt grill and started chopping it the day I got it with no hesitation! I cut out every single hole in the grill so I know what you went through, but the end result is awesome
I also got the SHR lower grill inserts and painted them to match the rest of my scheme. I do agree that the GT vertical bars detract from the look a bit, but I love the look of my front end.
+1000 to SHR's exclusive products and outstanding quality as I have quite a bit of their products(2 more should be here this week)and I definitely recommend them to anybody!
