Seriously, why the animosity towards the concept style wheels? These are cool. What do you mean by them having the center cap? Are you saying this is ugly?

I guess I just have a problem with buying a brand new, completely re-designed car with carry-over wheels...
I agree, I think I prefer the concept-type just because they are different than the past. Actually I am not getting mine until spring so I maybe the 18's will be available then? I am going to look the to over and see which I like. Who knows may I'lbel go down to discount tire and get some 18's of my own. I never liked doing that on a new car for some reason--Seems like it kind of cheapens it.

What do you think the price difference between a wheel upgrade and going out and buying your own are? As with the stereo it's probably cheaper to go out and get it yourself. But better I'm not sure.

Personaly I wish they would have made the optional V6 rim in a 17" for the GT, because it looks better on the car than the avaliable GT rims

on the topic of wheels,

I agree that the v6 wheels would have made for gorgeous 17 or 18" wheels on the GT
The bullitts are not carryover, they are smoothed out quite a bit, plus there will be a new bolt pattern supposedley
The centrecap on the concept wheel has been confirmed to be plastic, which means the chrome will flake off in time.. making them look bad IMO
No one is more disappointed about the 18's than me... but maybe they will become available soon after launch... nothing has been confirmed yet.

It also looks like they are painted only on the 5 spokes. I took a look at some on an 02 GT today and they were painted around the inside of the rim, only leaving an unpainted ring around the outside.

Does that make any sense?

On the topic of rims... will the 18" bullits' fit on the V6 mustang?...

Do you think they'll be an optional upgrade?...
The bullits are 17s. They should fit the V6. [/b][/quote]

oooh, happy me!

Thanks, that makes me happy.

Wonder how much a set of four would cost.

Hmmm... that kinda sucks the V6 cant get them in an upgrade package...

Errrr... gotta make some money first to buy the car... then I'll give ya a ring

What state do you live in anyway?... the shipping costs would probably be huge anyway

Edit: Curious... why get other rims? I think they look better than the V6 version myself, and the other V8

Doh, it says the GT rims are 17's and the V6 are 16's

So my hopes are squashed anyway... since you cant put a 17's on a V6, or can you?

Can't we just get the car on lousy winter rims and save money for aftermarket mags! I definately don't like what Ford has to offer with the new 'Stang..

you can't put 16" tires on a 17" wheel, but other than that...cmon man, it's the same car with a different engine (i know i'm oversimplifying...don't kill me!). And you can't tell me you haven't looked at those car magazines and seen a Focus with 18" rims?

It can be done! The only thing that would be prohibitive would be if they changed bolt patterns between the 2 cars...but why in the heck would they do that?

Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him in the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

GTs 17" rims/tires on the V6... no problem...
V6 16s on the GT....probably won't clear the larger brakes...
