Hi guys,

I've been looking everywhere for an OEM-looking GT grille without the center pony, like in this picture from Kevin (without the chrome though):

[attachmentid=46801]

It should still have the foglights and should be black, either plastic or black chrome, preferably keeping the honeycomb design of the stock grille.

I am aware of this SS overlay, but it's not what I'm looking for (too much bling):

[attachmentid=46802]

I can't find and vendors for such a grille, could somebody please help me with a link?

Thanks!

Good Luck. Vendors are hesitant to make anything that has the stock look. Too labor intensive to make one and produce it.
All the ones out right now look cheap for a reason... there are.

I've been trying for over a year to get a stock style grille made that doesn't have the pony OR the fogs. Still trying.

The SS overlay you have above is made my Street Scene right?

They make that same grille in black chrome, and it's what you are looking for.

I think he was saying he wanted the stock style honeycomb.
SS uses that Home Depot mesh grille stuff.

You could always as Midwest Composites (makers of the Plenum covers and Mirror Inserts) to look into it. They obviously have the technology, but I'm sure they'll want to know there was a big enouch market out there.

I've tried them. As well as CDC and a LOT of other places.
I just bought 3 GT grilles that should be here sometime next week. It'll be a HUGE project, but I'm finally frustrated enough to give it a try. If it goes well, I'll start a thread on my progress.

I orginally bought a couple of GT grilles and a street scenes GT billet kit. I tried to cut all the honeycomb out and set the billet one in it's place. It was working ok, but I just couldn't get the plastic to look good after the honeycomb was removed. I pitched the grill I was working on. I still have the other grill and the billet, but am not sure what I want to do with it.

I also would be interested in a "stock" grille pony delete! I did a down and dirty chop and I think it looks pretty good on my car.

hmm.
I think it would look better with the center fogs if you're going to add the tri-bar.

BUMP! I was thinking of this type of grill lately, and found this thread. That would look great to get a grill that looks OEM without the pony in the middle. Just blank, so anyone can place any emblem there. Has anyone seen anything since the last post was written.

Not yet. However, I heard a rumor that there's one in the works by the same company that just made the OEM style grille with center fogs.
