Local Ford Dealer Has Nice Boss Clone

I stopped by my local Ford dealer today to pick up a flyer about a car show that they are hosting this Friday night. The salesman asked me what I was bringing and then he proceeded to tell me about the Boss Mustnag that they had on the showroom floor. Personally I think they did a great job but not for the $10,000 markup.

Here's some pictures~

Sitting next to a pretty nice Ford GT~ I guess the flash made the side stripes wash out so they are probably vinyl and they are black also.

I assume those vinyl side stripes are reflective just like the old 69 Mach 1 stripes are and that is why they are looking washed out. I am thinking that you could do that "boss" package yourself for like half the cost or less.

Quite afew nice add on pieces. CDC shaker, CDC front spoiler, Boss rear wing, Silver Horse rear panel, FRPP exhaust, Hurst shifter, Raceline wheels, unsure of the tires, FRPP suspension, painted hood with vinyl side graphics. Ford shop rate labor $75 hour~

Not worth the markup though!

its not a boss its just a mustang gt. im getting kinda sick of the rebadging thing going on with these cars, its getting to be like the type r thing with hondas/acuras. im trying to make mine look like a boss/mach1 but im not going to put some fugazi badges on it, im leaving the gt badges because thats what it is.

I don't see an issue with someone making a version of a car that wasn't produced. If anyone who was seriously thinking of buying it thought that it was a Boss then I would say

I dont see a problem with dressing up a 05+ to resemble a Boss or any ther vintage Stang. I see a problem with some idiot paying out the nose for a car that will drop $18k in value as soon as the ink is on the paper. $38K for a new GT, thats nuts.

Im looking at a 03 Cobra vert for $25K, low mileage, mint condition. That car will always be worth more than a Boss "clone", and a hell of a lot more fun.

Oh yeah, it is a good looking car, but 10K for 5K in mods, forget it.

Then that person has more money than brains.

I posted this topic because I (personally) thought that the mods that the dealer had done were very tasteful and might be correct if Ford had produced a Boss for 2006. Thank God we don't live in a world where everything is the same and we have freedom to make choices. JMO~

The price is a ripoff, but I like the idea.

Other than the spinners on those wheels. What were they thinking? That makes the whole thing look like rice.

Then again why didn't they put Boss wheels on it?

I kinda like the old black reflective...3m still sells it- 'scotchcal'/'scotchlite'...I bought a 4" roll, ran about $150/roll.

heres a pic of the stripe layout Ive been contemplating- this was a photochop on someone elses blue car, scribbled up before mine came in:

Not trying to start a war but the price is less than a Roush and you actually get more.

20" wheels/tires = $3000
Ford Racing Exhaust = $500
Ford Racing Susp. = $1000 (shrug)
CDC Shaker = $800
Hurst Shifter = $350
Custom Painted Hood = $300-$400
Front Splitter = $200
Rear Wing = $200
Labor..

Looks better than the Roush too. (my opinion) I like the car but would've went with a smaller wheel. The 20's dont exactly inspire the Boss Musclecar look.
