most people lower their cars when they mount new wheels, because they typically go with lower profiles tires as well (except for wutime's setup, which looks great, btw), which makes the gap even larger and creates even more of 4x4 look.
these cars sit exceptionally high from the factory. they weren't designed to sit that high, but they do because ford has to comply with gov standards. that's one of the reasons why all of the big stang modification companies (roush, shelby, saleen, etc.) included lowering springs; the other reason being improved performance though a lower center of gravity.

Here are mine - both have 18s (Black Bullitts are from American Muscle and the Polished Bullitts are stock) and both are stock ride height.

I have NEVER considered lowering my car. I drive it far too much, and with a CDC Classic Chin AND longtubes underneath, I don't want the these getting hit by road debris and damaging anything. I love the way my car looks with the CS67 wheels. Sometimes, people see my car and ask what springs I have, as it "appears" its lowered slightly, but it isn't. Its the wheels, and all the spokes that makes my car look lower than it really is. Check out the pics below.

That's the same for me, though I would like to level out the rear only a bit but that's it. I get the same question too, must be the wheels. Now I have my stockers on with snow tires and it looks a lot different.

Here ya go!
Stock spring 08 GT with 18x9.5 SVT wheels and 255/45ZR18 / 285/40ZR18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires on her. The front sits alittle lower then stock now, due to the added weight of the blower.
Pic pre blower.. not sure it made 'that' much of a difference.

Sorry for the tread jack, but is your car a DD? How is it in the snow. I'm moving back to the midwest soon and a second car is not in my budget at this time.

It's quite good actually I drove it all last winter also and had no issues what so ever. The snow tires I'm sure help tons, but it's just as good as my FWD car was. I am use to RWD in the winter so maybe that helps too.

I've just never driven a 300 horsepower rear drive sports car in the snow.
It looks like I will invest in some steelies and snow tires.
Thanks Starfire
