I want some new springs but am not sure how aggressive I want to go here. I'm keen on Eibach Sportline anyone have those? HR Springs?

Pictures encouraged... Let's see em!

Nick,

With any drop, if you are conservative, you have the potential for less clearance issues if you switch to a taller wheel and tire combination. Also, if you install a body kit or front spoiler of some kind, you will be glad you did not go too low.

As was pointed out in a post elsewhere by Dario Orlando from Steeda, that the lower you go on a S197, you will need to make some corrections by way of installing adjustable panhard bar, camber kits, etc.

Consider the Vogtland springs with the 1.5 inch drop.

I hope this helps.

Hey Lowe!, how much did the rear of your car drop? Does the rear sit lower than the front now or is it still a little higher than the front? Looks great!

THANKS!
It dropped the rear just a bit over an inch. The rear is about 3/4 inch higher than the front still. The distance from the front fender to the ground is 27.75", and rear is just a hair under 28".

I need to measure again to see if it has settled any.

I don't have anything to contribute, but I will support this thread as the TMS VBulletin resurrection of my old lowered 'stang thread. (Hey moderators - make this one a sticky!)

I will eventually get H & R Sport springs on mine, someday...

For those with STeeda ultralites, did you need an adj panhard bar or camber plates? Any difference in how it handles?

Thanks

I did not need/use an adj. p-bar. I didn't install the front springs so I can't help ya there. However, some folks have been getting away w/o add'l camber plates or bolts.

Like mentioned above. If your planning on a getting a kit or chin spoiler I wouldn't do more that 1.5" drop. Here is a before and after of the eibach pro-kit. I will admit though, I do like the way the sportline kit looks, i'm just not sure if i'd like to drive it (daily atleast)

I have to say that after lowering my previous car with a set of eibach coilovers and having problems with the height no matter where I went I am extremely pleased with not only the drivability of the STEEDA springs but also the look!

Hey adrenalin, are your rear tires larger in diameter than stock? Or why does it look like your car sits lower in the rear than mine?
