saleen has the biggest tire ive seen, but apparently they roll the fenders to accomodate it. They have a 275/35/20 on the front adn a 275/40/20 on the back.

I've always wanted to know what "roll the fenders" means?

275 is definitely pushing it on a 8" rim...255 would be about the largest I'd consider "safe." You'd hate to roll a tire off the rim in a high speed turn! :notnice:

rolling the fenders means modifying the wheel wells so that a larger tire fits without having the tire rub the fender, something you may not want to be doing. Also, saleen uses a 9" wide wheel.

SHM has a 275/40/18 on an 18x8.5 inch rim. That's as large as I would go personally.

I've got 285's on a 10" wide rim. I tried 295's but they rubbed on the inside

Here's a pic of Sean Hylands car:

You can see how beefy the tires look but still fit inside the wheel well. I know some guys have larger wheels and tires on their cars but this is as large as I would go.

Another pic from the rear.............

It's all a matter of personal choice but to me a 275/40/18 on a 18X8.5 inch wheel looks to be the best compromise. You get a nice fat tire but it still stays inside the wheel well. Just my 2 cents...............

H&R put 275's up front with 305's in the rear. That is the biggest I have seen so far.

fr 275/35-19 on 19x9.5
rr 305/35-19 on 19x11
