ptlm4life must have gotten that hood a while back -

I was really interested in that hood - but when I called Cervini's (after noticing that is was not on the web page anymore) they said that they were having mold problems and decided to eliminate the heat extractors.

The heat extractors really were a deal breaker for me. Yes, there is the Trufiber GTS hood, and it is very close, but I like the way the Cervini's hood scoops did not go all the way to the nose of the hood... I guess I will have to keep looking...

What have you done with the heat extractor vents as far as keeping water from getting in? If anything? I have the new GTS2 hood and right now the shop is painting the rain guards black. I'd like to somehow just deflect the water not completly close it.

The drip trays do completely close it off, I plan on cutting 1/4 inch by about 3" slots around the tray near the top so the heat can extract. I think a small hand grinder will work fine.
Mine are painted flat black, can hardly see them. The louvers are made of plastic not fiberglass, kinda of a yellow color when unpainted.
