Hey OCD,
Will that spoiler cover the existing holes for the factory spoiler? please say yes, i like it and now wish I had ordered the delete, I think it may be to late to change it, my car just got a build week os April 18th
Fang Performance has developed a rear spoiler that covers the holes when a factory spoiler is removed. See pics below. We have had some good response so far to the look. See pic below. www.fangperformance.com

I recieved my spoiler from CDC today, here is the installation instructions that were included with the spolier. Sadly it won't be until late april before it gets painted and installed.
Could you post some pics of the spoiler uninstalled. I'm wondering how hard it would be to cut-out an rear for the third brake light.
OCD Any thoughts on this?

Not bad, but that rear decal looks terrible and it's got waves in it.
I'd also have to see more pics.

StangNut, as far as cutting the CDC DT for the lamp. I wouldn't try it unless you're experienced w/ fiberglass. I'm pretty sure the DT's hollow in the middle, you'd have to re-work the whole thing. It's a lot easier to go to AutoZone and buy the $15 LED lamp I bought.

Thanks, OCD. I kind of figured that, but I was hoping otherwise. CDC has the best desiegn for a DT, but I'm not a fan of that third brake light.

Looks like it's either the SS version or nothing at all.

Is it a law to have a 3rd brakelight now, or can you just cover it up?

David, there's a pic of what I did on post #22 of this thread. The CDC one is similar, mounts high inside the rear window near the headliner. That's where mine is and it's location is perfect, I don't even notice it when driving.

Just ordered the Painted ducktail( mineral grey), classic chin, 3rd brakelight, 1/4 window louvers( same as MRT).....all from CDC
I hope the paint matrch will be good!!! They are guaranteeing it, and will even pay for return shipping if it is not good!

It's probably doable, but I wouldn't do it. The bolts also seem to help 'tighten up' the DT to the lid. Installing it improperly wouldn't be as safe and wouldn't look as good. I'm not sure how 'functional' the DT is, but NASCAR cars use a DT style spoiler, so at it probably provides some type of downforce or aerodynamics (guessing only), and I wouldn't want to bank on 3m tape holding on $400... the guy following you probably wouldn't either.

My paint match from the DT to the lid is better than the paint match from the quarters to the bumper cover.

Can't wait to see pics of your car... good luck.

I drilled mine on my own. Not that bad, just buy a good set of new drill bits so they won't 'drift' on you, take your time w/ the template and your pilot holes. Use the rustproofing that comes w/ the DT. If you want to plan ahead, get some touchup paint and apply it after you drill your holes. I'd still put the rustproofing on afterwards though just in case. Good luck, it's actually not one of my favorite mods, but it seems to be everyone else's favorite.
