Information Requested - Alignment Holes

Can someone who has removed the rear emblem tell me if the alignment holes (two I think) run vertically or horizonally. Also about how far apart they are. I'm thinking of using the side fender running pony in its place. Trying to find out if it would cover the holes and be far enough below the key hole.

I kicked around different ideas. Nothing good worked at the time. The multi-radius of panel is another consideration for fitment of other pieces. The pony badge will not cover the holes or fit well. The wife wanted the GT badge back on, so I had to order a new one. The backing is not solid and the adhesive is a loss upon removable.

Know what you mean. After having the car almost a year, I consider it a "done" project until my warranty expires except for the rear panel. I just got a "Hireman's Pony" for the front and the rear emblem has to go. I am thinking of just pulling it, filling/painting the holes and then go with a Mustang script emblem in the lower right part of the panel or using the fender pony. Going to wait since Hireman is working on a rear emblem and see what "magic" he comes up with
