It's a shame that these are 16 inch. I'm sure they will probably come up with a 17 or 18 inch in the near future. A retro wheel on a retro looking car. How sweet is that?

American Racing makes the Torq Thrust II custom rims which is basically the same and you can get up to a 20" rim.

These are American Racing 20's, I really hope someone produces a 19 inch version for the'05.

I was thinking the same thing. American Racing makes an 18" Torq Thrust and a 20" Torq Thrust but no 19". Also, those wheels in the first post are America Racing Torq thrust wheels look at the center cap. He just did not look at the correct series of Torq Thrust wheels. Go to the American Racing site and look at Torq Thrust II, Torq Thrust Classic, or custom offset Torq Thrust. All of these are available in 17", 18", and 20".

What offset did you end up getting? Last week I sent an email to AR regaring ordering these rims but not sure if I should stick with the 45mm offset. I want to put 295's in the rear and have no rubbing.

It was like 3.25 backset on the front and 3.75 backset on the rear. I will find out for sure when they come in. The name of the guy that helped me out is Hoppy.

Guys - I checked on the AR TT II's this weekend in the 18". Was told I'd need to go with a 255/45/18 tire to be very close to the original tire/wheel diameter - so speedo, etc. will still be accurate.

Problem is I'm not sure what rim width to go with - I want to keep the same width all around so I can rotate (front to back) and I don't want any driveability issues with the new wheels/tires. What width are the stock 17" machined alum alloy wheels? And is 8" a normal width for an 18" rim and how do you determine which width would be best for the 255/45 18 tires?

Also, I'm a bit confused by the different offsets available - anyone know what would be the correct offset for the wheel/combo I described above?

Sorry for the 20 questions - I'm getting these as soon as I can figure out what size to order and I HATE to have issues with aftermarket rims - been there/done that - no fun at all.

I have 255's on mine with the 8"x17" stock bullitt rims. When I go aftermarket, I'll go with 9-9.5" rims (18" wheels) so I can increase tire size. The 255's work out great on the 8" rims, but that's about the largest you would put on them. I am also looking to Steal101 to see what off-sets AR recommends for the wheel sizes he ordered.

Yes,255/45/18 on the front will be almost the same as stock. 285/40/18 are also just as close. 18x8's are great for 255's and you will need a 10 inch wheel if you wanted 285's on the rear.

Paul - thanks - I'll look forward to hearing what you come up with. I'm thinking now that I'd better go with at least 8 1/2" on the 18's so the wider tires will fit properly. Just got back from a drive and I'm digging this new Mustang - fun to drive.....can't wait till the rain ends and I can try it out a bit

Wild Stray, I will get the part numbers from my tire guy this week. Be ready for the prices. I think about $350 a wheel for the fronts and $375 for the rear.

Bradley, IMO you should go with a 9" rim with 255's and 18" rims.

Check this pic of the showcar with that exact setup. Looks perfect:
