Last weekend I deleted my spoiler. I removed the spoiler and plugged the holes with 3/8" plastic hole plugs. I painted the top of each plug with 2 coats of base color and three coats of clear and sealed holes with a small amount of clear silicone. The hole plugs look like factory installed rivets. It looks pretty good for about $10 investment ($.54 hole plugs + touchup paint.) Plus, if I ever want to put the spoiler back on, I can just push the plugs out and bolt it back on.

Looks pretty decent and, as you said, the price was right

I've seen it done many times on 94-2003 mustangs in the past, it looks fine.

Interesting... can you post a close-up pic of the plugs, please? Thanks!

That's sweet. I was wondering if there was something like that out there. But I elected to go without the spoiler since I didn't know if there was any good pug out there for the holes. But now I just love the spoiler delete, so it's ok for now I guess.

Did the same thing to determine whether or not I wanted the spoiler off for good. I kept it off and had the holes filled and painted. The hard way to get a spoiler delete $$$$$$

Easy for you to say. When the 05's were released the spolier delete was not an option on Canadian orders.

Here's a closeup. The shadows in the picture make the plugs look like they're sticking up out of the hole a little, but in reality they don't.

I got the plugs from Home Depot in the hardware aisle with nuts and bolts. The touchup paint came from http://www.paintscratch.com

I ordered the spoiler delete option too, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. But I look at it this way, I got a free, pre-painted spoiler...

Nice job. These ponies really look great with no spoiler, at least not with the factory spoiler.

Anybody have an idea of how much a brand new spoiler free trunk lid would cost??

Probably just as much as a good ducktail spoiler, so that has been my dilemna. Originally I wanted a spoiler delete but couldnt pass up the deal so had to take the stock. I was thinking going GT500 but then I came up with the idea to swap decklids with a V6 owner who may like the stock spoiler and just switch them out even steven. Havent found any yet though.

I thought about going the swap route too however being Legend Lime my swap opportunities are probably slim.
