I would prefer a scoop that was functional, but if it wasn't I'd be fine with that too

I voted for plane, but I do like cowl hoods like Steeda's. I think the S197 has plenty of open space up front to let air in.

Seeing that my non functional scoop will be here Monday. I went for the nonfunctional option myself.

What scoop did you go with?

The roush scoop.

That, a GT front bumper and the CDC classic spoiler should, imho finish up the exterior of 05 convertible nicely.

I've also added the GT rear bumper, dual exhaust, CDC ducktail, and CDC light bar.

The only other item I think I would bolt on would be a center fog light upper grill should one that matches the lower stock grill ever be produced.

On my car, if I am going to the trouble of installing a scoop, i'd personally prefer it be functional.

I don't like to be looking at a plain hood when I drive. Vents, a scoop, or a shaker. Something has to be there and it does not need to be functional but it does need to look as it belongs i.e. the Roush hood scoop.

I thought the Roush scoop was the best looking scoop available without going to an aftermarket fiberglass hood. I still think it looks good and get lots of compliments on it. It doesn't bother me that it's not functional because my JLT cold air induction has no problem bringing in the air!

Substance over style--no sense in adding one if it isn't functional.

Functional is better than non-functional, but I have nothing against the non functional scoop to go with a factory non functional rear spoiler (I'm beating a dead horse).

I voted functional, but I just cant bring myself to cut a hole in a perfectly good aluminum hood.

I would prefer functional but non functional is fine too.
I just ordered this CDC from Mustangs Unlimited.
It wont be functional at first, but I have plans to make it duct air to the filter box.

Sweet, that's the one I'm debating getting.

My feel on it is that, yeah, functional is nicer, but as long as it's not so large to totally trash aerodynamics, non-functional just for styling is acceptable. Actually considering I like the underhood area very clean, non-functional might be better in my case than one that's just dumping air in over the airbox area.

If it looked good I really wouldn't mind. Functionality would only be a plus

Nice, I have actually had my eye on this one as well. And it has a bit of function with the turn signals in the back of the scoop
Please keep us posted when you get it in.

If I were to buy a hood or hood scoop, I would want it to be functional. If I were buying a car already equipped with one it wouldn't change my opinion of the car if it were non-functional (i.e. 2004)
