Hood Pins Installed
Hood Pins Installed
Well, I finally got the guts and time to install my hood pins. These are the Shelby stainless steel hood pins. Installation wasn't too bad, except that the stainless steel screws kept breaking.
I love the way they make the car look.

Hey Guys!
I'm the new dude!
I just ordered the same ones from Shelby, was it very hard to put them on.
Did you use a small drill bit and placed the hood pin covers on the hood where you wanted them to be and started drilling into the hood?
I'm I close?
Thanks
Denny

I think I would try and get a tap to thread the holes before I tried putting the screws in, or do you think you drilled the holes a tad to small?
I would say get a few extra screws Denny measure 3 times and drill once

What my brother and I did - drill the pilot hole first with the small bit. Then using a slightly larger bit, hit the bottom hole from underneath with that to open them up a bit. Then when you install the screw, you will not get bound up on the bottom sheet of metal.
We did this and didn't break a screw.
(and thanks to the added airflow into the engine bay from the CDC black billet grill with no fogs, I did these for the practical reason and not purely as a visual mod - got way too distracted by hoodshake at high speeds)
