hood pin help

There are so many different hood pin kits out there and many different prices. What is the differences? Do any of them fit the 05? I dont want the kind with the cables. I like the look of the twist lock. Will they fit?

What kind do you have? Help me!

I've got the Ford Racing Pins , they're stainless steel and don't rust right away. I like the twist lock also , but because of the angles on the hood they would require a lot of work ...

ok if you like the twist locks (and i believe do not settle for something you do not want) Fangperformance.com has the twist locks that fit the 05-07 hoods...i have the FRPP pins with cables because i like the look so even after alot of work i got the look...believe me it is work spending a little more and getting what you want

Those ones at Fang are $130! Ouch! So I take it there are no other twist type that will work on our hood?

What kinds of problems did you have with the FRPP ones? Too short as I read somewhere? What did you do to correct that? Please give me details of your install.

Thanks for the Steeda tip.

one thing my ford was a virgin when it came to hood pins and they charged me $125 to do it but i did not have the guts to do it myself....the FRPP posts are too short and all you have to do is go to pepboys and buy a set of their pins for $12...but you have to bore out the holes if you want to use the FRPP pins...i would recommend making gaskets out of a rubber tube for the plates...the cables are a PITA...they always want to curl when you want them straight....so i heated them a bit and they fit...my pins are more towards the center and are drilled through the radiator support brackets which from what i have seen is a very strong location...took a while (4-6 hours) but look good in the end....a better way might be looking into the Shelby hood pins because they come with brackets and longer posts but i would check into that first...any more questions just ask
