A hood that is functional with a CAI

I wanted to show ya'll my hood that was made to be functional.I didn't really want a non functional air scoop, so Miller Performance of Orlando made the GTR type hood functional. Dave Miller made the hood functional by building a deflector under the hood that fit exactly on top of my Airaid CAI. He cut out the scoops on top and fiberglassed an enclosure that empties the out side air over the heat shield of the airaid, right into the filter. The first photo is my hood on my Redfire '05 GT. The second picture shows the underside with the air deflector opening (the rectangular box) facing the driver's side fender. With the hood closed the outlet seals against the rubber of the Airaid heat shield and dumps the outside air into the CAI. It works great and I love it. Dave used my hood after the initial construction to make a mold of the deflector to cut his fabrication man hours. As a consideration for my time without my hood, he paited the underside Redfire and it looks terrific.

Miller Performance can adapt the outlet to any CAI, not just Airaid specific. I will post more photos tonite, if I am not working. I don't have them here now, on lunch break at work. Here is their web site: http://www.classictoyshop.org/

Looks awesome. It would be great if someone would mass produce it. I'm sure that one-off creation was pretty expensive wasn't it?

Love the hood and the fact that it is functional. Who is the manufacturer of the hood before it was modded? I really like the GTR ram air hood but everything I have ever read is that it is a P.O.S. as far as quality of construction goes.

The hood that Redfire05GT has looks exactly like the "05-06 Shelby Style Hood" further up on that page for $449.99. Again, compare the underside.
It's very similar to the Maier Racing Shelby style hood but Maier's hood scoop looks shorter to me...
