Take a look at these two pics of the '05 with the Shaker hood scoop and tell me whether or not you like it.

Also, anyone have any idea where one can purchase the hood latches you see here for the '05. This is from CDC, but their website shows the hood pin style latches, rather than the type of latches you see pictured below. I like these latches. Whaddya all think...?

I LOVE the shaker and the special hood. However I am not a huge fan of the latches(hood pins).

I'd ditch it all personally. I don't care for scoops, cowl hoods, etc.

Good old CDC, I really hope a shaker kit comes out for the 2005. I have one installed on my 2000 GT and it looks and operates great. Solid materials, mounted right on the engine for that "jiggle" its a nice element. I'm not sure I love what they did with the hood, but after buying one shaker system from CDC I am definately sold.

Scoop that mounts on top of the engine basically and then feeds down to the air box through a large pipe. It's a ram air concept, basically it just feeds more air into your engine. The more fast moving cold air you can get into your engine the better. Combined with a nice exhaust it really helps the car breath and sound better.

Those pins need to be moved to the corners of the hood, not the center like that. I like 'em. The scoop looks good, but I dinna like the sword point.

/my $0.2346 (inflation methinks.)

I friggin luv it. It screams 70 Mach 1 baby!. Although I'd like to see the "sword point" a little less obtrusive for comparisons sake.

BTW, the only things that can actually benefit from a ram-air effect are vehicles traveling at super sonic speeds. Its either cold air or warm air.

Still though I dig the shaker and I hope Ford does another Mach 1. The new car is so right for it. From stem to stern. This hood and shaker up front, some honeycomb inserts out back. Dump the driving lights (move them down), add a chin spoiler and a ducktail plus a 350 to 375 hp 5.4 (350 hp from a 5.4 shouldn't be a big problem since the 3v 4.6 makes 65 hp per liter.) put some 18's on it with some nice wide tires. (265/35R19's are about right size wise, but I dunno about load wise). Nice fat brakes and some Mach 1 badges...

I find the 05 driving lights distasteful, I think I'm suffering from the sort of mental aberration that blocks out painful stuff like that so thats why I don't see 69 me self.

I like the scoop but not the raised section in front. Pins should be out closer to the front corners

While the latches are cool, I would not consider them if they are just glued on. If they are functional, that would make them all the better.

I don't mind the look of either but I don't think I would spend money to switch hoods. (if I had an 05)

Those are latches from the 71-73 mustang. They are functional. You need to buy the two latches, under the hood hold down plates and the radiator frame braket for them to attach to. The total cost will be around $200-$220. They are great and I'm going to put the shaker and hood latches on my 05 as soon as CDC releases the shaker set up. Here is a link for the hood latches:

Here is my former car a 73 Mach 1 351C with ram air.
