Help! How do I remove pins from fender emblems?

Hey guys!

Need your help. So here's the deal, I have a black 2005 V6. My modifications have been pretty minor so far...I removed the side panel stripes and swapped out the V6 rims/wheels with stock GT rims/wheels. I recently purchased fender emblems as my latest mod. The link below shows them:

Here's the problem. They are adhesive backed, but also come with pins in the back. Obviously the V6's do not have slots for those pins. Does anyone know how I can remove the pins so I can just stick the emblems on? Any advice you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've used pliers in the past. Grip the pin low and snap off. It's worked for me. I agree a drumell tool would probably be best if you have one.

Dude for my '68 Mustang script emblem it had three pins, all i did was get some strong wire cutters and snapped off the pins low then got some heavy grain sand paper and sanded it down to the point where the cut pin was lower then the edge of the emblem and it fit perfect and cheap or no cost at all (in my case) oh and the pins on those '68 fender emblems were METAL so it was A LOT more sanding to get rid of the pins but plastic should be easy and quick

I have a set to replace my GT ones . I was told to apply some heat (carefully) while prying with something like a credit card to ease it off, I was also told the pins are just in the holes to align in I gather so just soften the glue my 4.5 cents I will do mine when I find the time.

Here she is...

First of all, thanks to everyone who replied to my original post. I was able to successfully remove the pins from the back of the emblems. I've posted a few pics of the finished product. For my next mod I'm thinking about adding 05-06 Saleen side panel stripes (silver)...see other picture. I always value your opinions, so let me know what you think.

I personally like the Saleen stripes... my only issue is that I feel they are too small... if they were combined with the Steeda stripes in a design that was part of each (without the Steeda Sidewinder symbol) and that faded away the further it went back on the door.... I think that would look awesome......

The finished product!!!

2005 V6 Mustang - Premium package

Modifcations done:

- replaced tires/rims with stock GT tires/rims
- added tri-bar pony emblems (stock OEM from '06 model)
- added OEM Saleen panel stripes

That's all I'm planning to do for now. Maybe one day when they come up with a quality GT grille conversion kit I'll slap that on.

Alright, let me have it guys...what do you think?
