Without the cover Ford is using you have your pro's and con's. Con's would be bugs and a barely noticable aerodynamic feel. Pro's would be the look IMO. I thought it was going to be too much of a hassle to have them off and everything, but after thinking it all over the bug issue is what may bother me the most. This can be easily fixed with some spray and daily cleaning(no prob for me) I'm actually going to see what I can do about that minor situation. If its too much to deal with for that, I'll just leave it and forget the trouble.
I can have it or not have it and still love the car.

I'll just see what happens, and see if it's worth it.

well if u plan to wash them everyday u have way more time and energy than i do. bugs arent really that big of a prob unless you do a lot of rural driving anyway in my experience. I just hope replacement bulbs are cheap.

I had a fog go out on a 96 Z28 a few yrs ago and the dealer told me it was like $100 for the light. I told him well i guess i just wont run them anymore and noone will know one is out. Autozone, etc didnt stock the part either.

I wish I could see it outdoors. It's different seeing it indoors in an autoshow. Like I said I'd have to see if it's worth it. It's really too early to have a positive answer on what I will even do to the car to begin with. But I'll know when I see them on the road, showroom, and better yet on my garage.

For what it's worth, I've seen a couple of Focuses with replacement projector lights. They replace the stock unit with two round projector units in a black housing that fit in where the stock lights were.

See - http://www.discount-auto-parts-store.com/a...PC403705CF.html for an example.

It strikes me that, given the set up on the '05 Mustang, the aftermarket will likely offer a projector replacement that would look more like the concept Mustang's set-up. Then you could paint the light surround body colour and get higher-performance headlights.

Not a cheap way to go, though!

Aftermarket will probably make a new headlight bucket that has just the reflector covered and not the entire bucket
I think You have to change the complete headlamps. The black plastic isn't waterproof without the cover.

I hope we can get some color keyed headlamps, like the classic mustangs, on the aftermarket (without the "plastic window").

they are fords best seats ever, top-grain leather headed with side air bags. Its all steel-frame too, not plastic cheapos that the Evo has.
