Would this be Possible?
I really like the stiffness of a coupe, but enjoy having the wind flop my ears...
In the '70s, Porsche made a 'Targa' (named after a race, of course) that would meet new US rollover laws, and updated it in the '90s to a full glass roof, where one panel of glass rolled under the other to have a fully open top(except the roof pillars)
Does anyone think, know if this would be possible on a '05 Mustang?

Well, in the Porche case, the changes required for the original Targa led to the convertible 911 in the early '80s; the sliding glass version pictured in your post was based off of the 911 convertible. You can actually see the cut line where the roof rails meet the main body at the "c" pillar.
So, since there will be a Mustang convertible with a suitably fortified chassis, I assume one could create something similar. To me, such an expensive and heavy option doesn't seem to fit into the "affordable performance" nature of the Mustang.
A lot of these ideas WOULD seem perfect for a Cougar variant, though.

if anything when talking about a targa version of a car id talk about the targa MKIV Supra's. i forget the years that u could get the supra's witht he targa top but their tops never had roof pillars... they were in the roof (so when ud take the roof off ud be takign the pillars off too) looked hot. i love those supra's
