""Depending on who did it you would not know it was vinyl.

Have you ever had vinyl stripes, and I mean good ones, on a car? I know you may prefer paint but going through the hassle just seems to make sense to use vinyl instead. After all you only plan to keep the car for 2 years so why go through all the extra expense.

I assume you are talking about the cobra.""

Yes, the Cobra.

I never had Vinyl stripes, have those darn Edge and 4x4 decals on my Ranger which I want to take off. Well, let me take that back, I had stripes on the 68 GT/CS California Special. Not down the hood but on the sides and back of the spoiler. It was ok, you could definately tell it wasn't paint. I guess I could say I havn't seen a really good vinyl job. I have nothing against it and the pictures of your car and others on this site are awesome. Just the way I chose to go. It's too late to turn back now, they should have the base coat on today. Will stop after work and check it out.

It will look better than vinyl when its done. I hope

I guess its just a personal thing, I prefer paint.

I plan to keep the car for 2 years and buy the Shelby when it comes out anyway.

If the painter uses a high dollar clear, it would not change the color , a high dollar clear is crystal clear. it has a deep high gloss and no color change, my sugestion would be to sand the entire car with 800 grit sand paper and then lay out the stripes , paint the stripes the basecoat you want and then clear the entire car. they will probley have to wet sand it , then clear it and repeat this process a couple of times until it feels right . but once it's finished it will be a show quality job.good luck with your stripes! just remember in the end your the one that has to be pleased with the results, not anyone else.

What is "High dollar" clear? Do you mean an expensive clear or is that a brand name?
