Has anyone removed the plastic cover and painted their headlight buckets?

Would it be possible at all to dremel/cut the lenses at the seam? I have not actually seen how they look off the car but if you were careful it seems like cutting the lens would be easier.

NOPE!! But nice thougth though. the seam is not flush, it squares and wraps the lense to the bucket. Wish it was a flush seam. But heating it is the answer to get it started.
