I don't like the aqua either personally....Just don't think it denotes 'rice'... I do like the competition orange though, still mad Ford didn't pull that color out of the bag again....don't like candy apple red over red fire either, vapor silver is phenomenal... color is all personal opinion.

Oh, I meant to reply to the original thread but TacoBill distracted me.

While the car does not suit me (I like the idea of the paint job, but not the colors it ends up with, and I don't think the ronaele/bbr scoops fit the body right), in no way at all, can it be considered rice. I can't believe how many of you fellow Mustang owners are on here calling another V8 Mustang rice (a heavily modified one at that). It doesn't have a huge hideous airplane spoiler, it doesn't have yellow stripes and accents all over, it doesn't have a coffee can exhaust, it doesn't have parts added to make it "look fast", and it's ground effects kit is inspired by the most recognizable movie car in history.

Rice? You need a reality check.

Are an intake, CMCV Delete plates, a tune, UDP's, and mufflers enough to take me out of the "Rice" category?

ALright, I'm done, let the hater's hate, and the rest of us can enjoy life.
In my opinion, the term rice doesn't even belong on a Mustang GT. Let's face it, they are faster than a lot of other cars on the road stock, so to me, that would get them out of the rice catagory. You do some exterior mods, you still have a fast good looking car.

Rice to me is a car (like a regular Dodge Neon) with no engine mods at all but lots of parts to make him appear to be fast.

I've only been modding cars for around 10 years so there's people that have been around longer than me, but I remember starting my first mods and that's what rice meant then. Rice was the label for the imports that had a big exhaust tip and a big wing and claimed they were fast, now it just seems if someone doesn't like something, it's automatically labelled "rice".

Sorry about venturing off topic, but I thought I would throw that in here.

having seen this car in person a few times...

1. Its a SHOW car...this is what they are supposed to look like...
2. It looks bad *** rolling down the highway, and gets TONS of looks...
3. If you owned a business say, installing aftermarket mustang part from mild to wild...wouldn't you want a show car and something that gets tons of looks (ie a rolling advertisement?)???

sure, i wouldn't want to drive around in it everyday either, but as far as it goes for a mustang, it is pretty frickin sweet! it is an all around bad *** car.

not to mention the hardcore guys are pretty standup. here is what they did for me, first one in the country with the Saleen Heritage/PJ front end:

you should have used a charger or 300c.

i guess the only bad things are the paint and doors.
everything else looks great.

19 years old, sunny so cal. OC/LA county. no drool.

I think you hit the nail directly on the head- MTV. That should be coined as a household term, righy next to rice. I'm adding that to my dictionary, thanks!

Btw, how many is that for drool vs no drool?

Nobody has yet to tell me what is rice on the car.

The paint is not rice, Ford created a similar version in 1996 when they did the Mystic Cobra. Are these cobras rice? Again I am counting you and I need to get to 40 haters before the end of the summer.

To make it more intresting here is my 2007 GT Convertible with everything you can imagine on it. Over $40k in parts alone. Now is this car rice too?

Heh, that one is rockin too

Its funny how some people get all up in a bunch. I threw out that little stinger about grabber orange and got a response Here's a concept that can be hard to grasp, although I personally hate Grabber Orange, If I see a grabber orange Mustang I still think its a great looking car. That convertible is definitely awesome!

now is'nt this something... some of you guy have parts from 2 or 3 mustang, GT500,saleen or roush and others, some w/ body kits, other w/ bigger wheels and different interior parts... some of you same guys have argued for fake badging of these cars... yea, go ahead and put a cobra badge on a GT or V6, you say. "it's his money he can buy what he wants". but you see all the work that went into this one and all of a sudden... "oh, i would never do that"...you already have... why do you think imports are called rice, not because its american made. that term only applies to a certain car.

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I'm going to disagree with everyone who says that the car is rice. It really isn't rice at all (well, with the exception of the Lamborghini doors, that is DEFINITELY rice, no two ways about it). It's just done in really, really poor taste IMO.

Yes, you may have used quality parts. Yes, the work may be top-notch. Yes, the car is fast. Yes, Ford offered a flip-flop paint job on the Mystic Cobras. But this isn't some simple equation where slapping together a bunch of high-quality parts = great looking show car. The parts you used, along with the color of the car, just don't work well together at all, and I think that's what people are noticing and calling rice. The color doesn't fit the S197, the doors are horrible, and the rear window scoops don't flow with the body kit at all (for starters).

Go ahead and call me hater #22 or whatever you want, if you posted a car like this on an internet forum, you should be prepared for responses, both positive and negative. Don't expect a bunch of hugs and pats on the back, although I see that a lot of people in here are trying to be overly non-confrontational by not expressing their opinion. And nice try with the reverse psychology "I'm trying to get to 40 haters" thing. Trust me, you'll definitely get them.

And way to be original with the convertible. You used the EXACT same body modifications, paint, and wheels as the coupe. LOL.

Thank you for your intelligent rebuttal. I'm glad you like Tungsten on your Sable wagons, I prefer it on Mustangs though.
