Are the Halibrand Cobra III's discontinued?
In the recent weeks, I have seriously comtimplated getting a new set of wheels for my car. I had looked at the Cobra III's back around the end of 2005, before my car came in. Recently, I asked the manager of my dealership's parts department. He called out aftermarket supplier about the Halibrand's and was told that they were only made for Discount Tire, and more importantly, that they were now discontinued! I wanted to ask if anyone knows about this. The reason given for being discontinued, was that they were incorrectly drilled. I did a search for Halibrand, but since the crash, there aren't many theads with pics, and there wasn't anything listed in regards to these wheels not being available.
I was hoping someone can shed some light on this topic. I tried to send an email to TQE QTRHSE (the guy that works for Steeda) but haven't heard back from him lately. I am looking for the 18"x9" Mid Lip in the standard Grey painted with the optional tailed knock-off. If anyone can help and let me know if these are still available, and where I can get these from at a good price, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for the help
Jeff

There's a specific size/offset done for Discount Tire, but they are not discontinued. One of our TMS members work at Halibrand, contact him TRQ QTRHRSE vbmenu_register("postmenu_663326", true); and check this thread...

Thanks Rony. I send that fellow a message about 14 days ago, but haven't yet heard back from him. Just sent another, so I hope he get back to me. I'd really like to know what kind of discount he gives on thee wheels. Thanks for the info.
If anyone has these wheels, if it isn't too much trouble, could you post some pics of your car. I'd like to get a few shots to see how they look. Thanks again.

Hey guys thanks for posting the pics. dtmako, does that company make the wheels in the darker grey color? Your car looks awesome with them.
Redbullet, thats to you too for posting some pics. The wheels you have, I am assuming they are the mid-lip version? Those are the ones I want soo bad!! Your car looks killer with them. The only thing is the Halibrand website doesn't even have a picture of these. Is there 2 Halibrand sites? If anyone has a link to the Halibrand site, with some pics of the Cobra III's I would apprecaite it.
Thanks again guys, I love the pics, and I think you have done an excellent job in making up my mind.

I figure they must be really busy, 'cause their new Mustang Body Kit was supposed to be released by the end of March, and is not out yet... they'll have an alternative to the side exhaust other than Cervini and BBR

Thanks. I'm not sure the picture depicts the true color and I heard the company was going to a darker gray. The company's website is down but you can see their add in any MM&FF. I bought mine from a local Ford dealer.
Have you checked out the Raceline version?
Check out their site

Thakns for the added info DT. Small world, as I just saw the ad for Raceline wheels in the most recent issue of MM & FF, and saw their GT wheels. I really like the Charcoal/Pewter color. I also like the American Racing Cobra wheels, but their site is horrible. They don't have any prices listed anywhere. They insist you call them. Looks like I'm going to have to do this.
