GT style grille for V6

I really like the looks of the stock GT grille but own a V6. I don't care for the idea of force fitting the GT grille into the V6 opening and I'm not fond of the GT front fascia. I also don't like the fog light spacing on the Street Scene grille. The Pony package grille is nice but it doesn't have the same muscular look as the GT grille. After a lot of searching I have found these two grilles. Does anyone have any experience with either of them and do they look like the GT grille?

1. ABC Exclusive $269.95
Look for GT Grille w/Running Pony for V6 about 9/10ths down the page.

2. Late Model Restoration $199.95

Thanks,
Martin

OK, I just found this thread on another forum with a link to this picture of the Late Model Restoration grille. If it was me I'd have been really PO'd if they'd shipped me that grille after purchasing it based on the picture on their web site. So this leaves only the ABC Exclusive grille in the running.

Anybody have pictures of it?

Hey there,

Consider this one also - VERY well manufactured part. Second picture shows components - for the V6 - comes with harness, lights, switch - everything needed for a complete install.

Please dont hesitate to call (866-278-8287 x134) or E-Mail (PNicholson@Stillen.com) if I can be of any help.

Thanks

Page,

Thanks. Looks nice on your car. The problem is I want the Pony and original GT light spacing like these pictures.

Hey there,

I would think a Ford dealer should be able to put together the parts for you. Worth a try?

The GT and v6 grills have a fitment difference with the GT front bumper cover... it's not just the fogs. (in case you weren't aware)

I have decided to try and fabricate a GT style grille for my V6. I've purchased a take-off GT grille with foglights and a take-off V6 grille. It's going to take me some time cause I want to do this right. Assuming I am able to do this (a BIG assumption ) I'll post pics and a "how to".

Did you need to cut the bumper cover to make it fit? That is what I want to avoid.

I believe that all that needs to be done to make a GT grill fit into a V6 bumper is to open up a tab so that the GT grill fastens in securely.

Do some searching on this and other forums and you'll find you need to make relief cuts in the bumper cover and shim the hood up to squeeze a GT grille into the V6.

I tried to install the Gt grille in my V6 but just couldn't get it to look good. I think the GT part is shaped differently, more triangular. The lower corners are more pointed than the V6. I wanted the GT look also but finally decided to go with the center fog grille.
