Just got back from a local Ford dealer and wanted to report that he had a Torch Red V6 with a GT grill and fog lights installed. The dealer did the work and it was $995.00 for parts and labor.Parts included the GT grill,2 fog lights, light switch and maybe some more parts I don't know about. They also had to find the wiring in the bundles to make all this work. They did not swap out the bumper cover, used the V6 bumper cover and thats where the biggest problem lies. The grill doesn't fit exactly at the bottom and you end up with a gap.I don't think that the Mustang fanatics would want to do this swap on their V6's,it looks OK but not what a lot of you would like.I don't think I would have them install it on mine.He did say he heard Ford may come out with a kit to do this conversion later.Parts would be about $400.00 from the dealer so that means about $600.00 for labor.I believe I am going to wait until a kit comes out or I find a used GT bumper cover.Sorry for the long winded post.

Hey, don't apologize! This information is interesting to plenty of people (even if I personally actually prefer the grill without driving lights).

Which dealer was this? (I live in the UCF area not far from Greenway Ford).

Wow 600 bucks to install a grill and two lights? That is rather outragious I'd say! Anyway 1000 just for a grill/lights swap does not really make sense. Add 4000 and you have a complete GT...

The dealer that had these V6's was Tropical, went down there again today to pick up some parts and they had a white V6 with the GT grill outside.Like I said earlier the fit was not that great, did look OK from a distance.I believe if you want to upgrade a V6 to the GT grill you need a GT bumper cover(500.00 from Ford) to make it look right.Parts people say the GT bumper cover will bolt on to the V6 with no problem. If you GT owners want a grill without the fog lights you would have to get a V6 bumper cover. If anyone with a Torch Red GT wanted a V6 grill I could be talked in to swapping.

That Torch Red they had with the GT grill had a sticker of $24,000.00 and that doesn't include the additional markup(if they are trying to add it on)and they have a GT down there with a sticker of $25,000.00 plus change. It really must have been stripped down.I think it was the light blue or grey but for a GT that wasn't bad.

Hey V6 guys and girls just found someone selling a conversion kit to put a GT type grill with lights in the V6.It looks like you get a V6 grill with the GT fog lights mounted for 199.00.I may order one to see how it looks. The only difference I see from the picture is the ares above the horse is filled in where as that area on the existing grill is not.Go to Ebay, mustang 2005 and look at page 8.Doesn't look to bad to me.Cheaper than you can get parts from Ford.Take a look.

Where did you order this? I couldn't find anything on "page 8" of eBay.

I agree with ya. I see alot of people modding their cars to "look" like a GT and only end up saving a few grand compared to buying a GT, which I just don't understand.

Maybe this word answers the question, can you say "insurance?"

Here is the link to $199.00

I just read on another web site that the GT bumper cover won't be a quick cure for those of us trying to get the GT grill in a V6.The other web site claims that the fender well plastic covers aren't quite the same on both cars.It looks like we will have to figure out how to get the light housings to fit the V6 grill someway.Someone on that website is working on it but I wouldn't hold my breath.

It's one thing to buy a V6 for economical or financial reasons, but why do all the plastic surgery to be something you're not?
