GT/CS Front Fascia Issue??
GT/CS Front Fascia Issue??
So I have the GT/CS fascias on both the front and rear.
I recall after the front fascia was installed, that I noticed it seemed to be more loose on the front than it seemed that it should have been. I chalked it up to the front fascia hanging lower with no additional anchors any lower, so there would be more swing.
This weekend, I tagged a curb with one corner of the front fascia. Upon examination there was only minimal damage to the lower portion of one side of the fascia. However, I can't tell if it is more loose than before, but it seems like it may be...
Anyone else with this looseness issue on the lower portion of the front of the GT / CS fascias???

Yes. If I grab from the bottom of the fascia, the bottom of the fascia seems like it moves, in the direction from the front to the rear of the car, a bit more than it should.
Also, if I grab the bottom of the "bumper" part of the fascia, it ssems like the "bumper" part of the fascia also moves a bit, as if it was anchored at the top of the "bumper" but simply swung down over the "bumper."
This is very difficult to explain clearly...

Stop tagging curbs, they bite. Mine is loose as you mentioned here, dealer says this is how they came from the factory and that is true. I tried to use some foam blocks and reinforce it from behind, did not last.
Well it wasn't on purpose...
I was stopping and so close to stopped that I barrely heard the sound, but it was too late.
The FRPP FR3, GT/CS fascia and high as$ parking lot curb conspired to do me in...
As I said, it was somehwat lose before, but I could not recall how loose now that I am of course concerned that it became more loose.

I have no idea what either a gravel guard or an undertray is, but I'm going to have to crawl down and take a look at the underside I think. The problem is I don't have a jack, and of course, the car is lowered and has a lower fascia...
**** those apperance mods...

I crawled under her after I got home tonight.
Everything is there, the clips are all in place, the gravel guads and bumper innards are in place, but everything is lOOO-OOOOse. Nothing apears to be any more loose that the design allows, but Ford REALLY did a crummy job on that fascia attachment...
I prefer a tight fascia...

Funny. We had the whole front GT/CS fascia off last month to install a new Stars and Strips grill pony and to do some detail work. When we did the re-install , everything was just as tight and solid as new! Do believe that something was not assembled correctly. Betting that it is the foam bumper pad behind the fascia. Ether missing or not properly installed in the locking connect tabs? See the fascia/nose pictures, at my "Installing S&S Grill Pony" thread for visuals of this foam nose pad. Lastly. If that is not it, then realize that this is a very large and soft piece of plastic fascia. Even with a perfect fit, it could still probably have about 1/4 to 3/8th of an inch of up/down wiggle in it at the center of the lower opening. This okay and normal for such a big fascia piece. Just check the GT/CS nose movement at a Ford local dealership, if you can find one! Good luck on this.
Did you add the small front pan extension that attaches between the bottom of the facia and the standard GT belly pan? Perhaps if you could take a picture of the underside of the facia it would help us. another way to ask this question is did you add any additional parts when you added the GT/CS front facia?
I think you are missing a piece.

However, after looking under the car, there is indeed a flat piece which extends from the bottom of the fascia back to something further back. I really did not check what it attached to, but it was there.
