It took me less than an hour or so to do the actual cover. I did my sequential taillight wiring at the same time, so my total time spent on the cover was skewed. The old cover comes off in about 10 minutes working slowly. You then need to swap out the inner support brace from the old cover to the new one along with the wiring harness. Not at all tough, but there's one more tool you'll need - a drill. You need a drill anyway so that shouldn't be an issue. From that point the new cover goes on in less than 10 minutes as well. The instructions that come with the kit are very comprehensive and simple in case you have any reservations. I would suggest doing the parts swap from the old cover to the new one on a soft surface, like your living room carpet if you can get away with it.

Reading this post and finding other sourses from Ford really helped me out.The dealer woud have charged me another $150.00 if I hadn't told them about their own accesrories websites.

Actually, at first I thought it was Ford's site, but it turns out it's not. It IS pretty convincing though nonetheless. The price was the best I could find. My dealer wanted over $500 for this kit - no installation included.

As far as I know that is correct... I haven't order mine yet but I seriously doubt for $320 it would be painted.

Correct, it's unpainted, save for the center diffuser section which is a satin black.

Oh no. Here we go again. LOL
The center diffuser section on the GT/CS rear bumper cover is already painted black when you get it.

No, I know that, but I didn't understand why you were saying it. I wish I had a dollar for everytime someone asked what the difference between the GT/CS and GT500 bumper were...

armycook1981 was verifying the cost was for an "unpainted" bumper. RobK was clarifying that it was partially painted.

Ok, I was just confused for a minute. Do you guys think it would look better in glossy black or the flat black that it comes in?

Flat, (or semi-gloss/satin) IMO, since it's a piece of trim. i.e. side mirrors, weatherstriping, grille, etc.
Also, because of it's location, it'll stay dirty. BTW, just plain flat black is harder to clean than satin / semi-gloss.

The textured bumper paint that a few people have used would be best, IMO.

6R3Z-6320049-AA is the accessory bumper cover, and retails for $399.00, $279.30 if discounted, it would be very expensive to ship such an item, and then there would probably be a 75% chance (90% if UPS) of it arriving damaged. I would order it from the dealer, but they are charging you to much for the bumper. Ask them for the accessory bumper cover, and tell them you found it online for $279.30, i'm sure they will be happy to match it.
So, maybe a dumb question, whats the difference between a production bumper cover and an accessory bumper cover?

Is $400 for paint and install or just paint?

It's actually an accessory KIT. It includes a few extra parts required for the install as opposed to just the raw cover. It actually makes it an even BETTER deal. Also, remember that the production cover was much less expensive, but Ford bumped the price folks started buying them for conversions. They just haven't gotten around to bumping the price of the kits.
