GT 500 wheels
Yes, mine are 17's. There is a method to my madness. I did not want 18's regardless of the cost of the wheel (cheaper). This is because I loathe paying high bucks for tires. At one time in my life, I used to buy the highest priced tire, basically for the brand name recognition. Today, I've found that most "cheaper" tires perform just as well. So I've changed my tune. I searched the 18-inch tires and you cannot get a 255-45/18 for less than $200 each. So the savings in the cheaper 18-inch wheel is more than offset by the purchase of a set of 18-inch tires. As for the 17's, I bought my tires for $97 each. Moral of the story: Tires wear out, wheels do not!!!

here are some for 113.00 http://www.edgeracing.com/tires/2554518/
Regardless, car looks great with those rims.
Here is one of the 18" machined face GT500s test-fit on my GT during my last tire rotation.
I don't have 1000$ for a set of 285/40/18 F1 supercars right now, so the GT500s are going to sit in the garage for a while.
Comparison w/ stock 18x8.5 and 235 tire, GT500 is mounted on the car.

About 1-1.5" of clearance width-wise in the wheelwell, but this is with the suspension fully extended on this side. Hopefully the 285s will clear
They fit the Shelby so I'm guessing it will be all good.

Not keeping these centercaps...

the 9.5" width really fills out the wheelwell all the way to the flare
