I love the 1966 GT350 and the 1970 Mach 1. So here is an idea that combines the two (I know that some will not like mixing LeMans and Mach1 stripes)

Mach1 stripe would be 14.5" for main, .75" gaps, and 2.25" width on outter stripes which comes out to 20.5" across. The LeMans stripes would have to be 9.5" stripes with 1.5" gap, also 20.5" across.

1. Fang hood and shaker with 1970 style Mach 1 stripes which morphs into LeMans stripes at the top of the hood and continue down the top and back.
2. Side stripes are like the 03/04 Mach 1 but with "GT-281". Script is same style as "Mach 1". I actually got the idea for "GT-281" from the Mexican "GT-351" on Brad's timeline.
3. Rear, would have a ducktail spoiler. Haven't decided on which one (CDC, Fang, or Xenon).
4. Also might use a billet style grille and some deap dish bullits.


I can take it so fire away. Am I out to lunch or would this look pretty good?

 

:scratch: imo i dont think it looks that good. personally i would pick one theme and run with it, not trying to combine the looks of two very different cars.

 

Looks good except for the change of stripe patterns. Go with the Mach 1 stripes all the way.

 

I agree pick one stripe and go with it. The side GT is good, maybe a bolder script? but it fits the Mach I type lettering.

Love the shaker. and the spoilers.

 

Ummmm, yeah. What are you having for lunch? My thought is to stay with one style of stripe(s). The GT-281 rocker stripe is cool though.

 

I agree with the others, pick one stripe pattern only! The rocker panel stripe is fine...

Just trying to come up with something a little different. I guess it was too different.

Here are a couple of more "conventional" ideas.

I don't really care for extending the Mach1 style stripes over the roof like in the 1st picture. It just doesn't work for me personally.


So I if I go with the Fang hood/shaker, I guess I'm left with one stripe option.

Now my next decision is whether to go with Vista or Windveil Blue. With windveil you could go with either traditional black or silver/grey stripes.

 

I like the second hood stripe a lot, I've seen it before somewhere.
The Mach 1 look would best be applied to a more classic color, so I'd go with WB and black hood stripe.

Here is what the Mach1 style stripe would look like from the top and back. Looks better than I thought, especially in the back, but I'm still undecided.

Why don't one of you Vista Blue owners do this to your car to give me an idea if I would like it

That Mach 1 stripe looks great. You could use silver, light gray, or white and be traditional, or yellow, orange, or red, etc and start mimicing some college colors.
