Wow, that is expensive. I paid $150 for the vinal kit on mine and $125 for installation.

Most places charge a lot for the installation of these stripes because they are not easy and tend to use double the amount of vinyl they need because of having to re-do panels. I had to redo my hood because of a flaw in the material. Also it is very time consuming. If the person knows what they are doing and are picky it will take about 8-9 hours to install. Most places I've seen are charging around $500.00 US to install the stripes.

As I said though, you car looks good so don't worry, be happy. I was just explaining why prices are going to vary. No different than paint prices. Some will paint stripes for $750.00, while others will do the same for $1800.00. Difference between removing bumpers and quality of work done.

Hawgman, first...your car looks great so no flaming here. Just wanted to say that you get what you pay for and you got what you paid for. In other words, people that will pay the higher price should expect to get a job done that makes people wonder if they are vinyl or paint. For what you paid for I can tell right away that yours is not paint because of the gaps around the faux gas cap and bottom of the trunk lid.

Can't see any seams. Wrapped under the third brake light and faux gas cap. The only time someone realized they are vinyl is when I point out where the seams are. You have to run your finger along the vinyl to feel them I do have a suggestion for you though. If you plan on keeping that spoiler you should stripe it as well.

To chime in with an opposite point of view, my stripes have gaps at edges (as I specified) and gaps around the faux gas cap (as specified), and the third brake light.
I also did not stripe my spoiler.
Just goes to show that we are all different, I guess.
Cost me $500.00, and some sections had to be redone - seems the 05 is a difficult car to stripe with all the angles, etc.

you kit was computer cut, mine was not so you can't do the stripe on the bumper in 1 piece. You need to lay it down in 3 pieces, along the seams of the car so they blend in with the vehicle. I no longer have a vinyl cutter so I had to do all of my cutting by hand, pain in the hiney.

never said yours weren't. You said you bought the kit so I assume you bought it online and those kits are now precut. Did you friend have to cut out around the faux gas cap, brake light and license plate area?

Yes, you are correct. They were precut. But no, he didn't have to splice them along the bumper lines or cut them and overlay them to make them fit.
BTW, not to change the subject, but nice wheels on your car.

Thanks for the compliments on the rims. I have never bought rims for any of my cars before and I am glad I did this time.

I have 10" vinyl on mine and paid 600 for them installed with 5 year warranty. I think it was a fair price considering the excellent job they did IMO. I have had many people ask me where I had them painted on LOL
