Allen ,
Mine is in the shop right now and should be on the car by Monday or Tuesday. That's the good news , the bad news is it's going to cost me $600.
Steve,
I just noticed you are in Delray Beach. That's where I lived before I moved to Atlanta (1981). I went to Atlantic High School and Palm Beach JC.
So, how's the weather?

Holy $$$)@(#$)(
I just had a body shop shoot me down. They were not enthused about painting urethane at all. Pointed out all the imperfections that would be visable after paint. Also said they would not warrenty the job. They didn't even give me a price.
I'll try another shop but don't have a recommendation to work with. I'm in the Atlanta area if any one can help me out.
The only other option is to return it and order the CDC and have the OEM spoiler holes filled ($400). Yow! I was not as pleased with the photos of the black GT either. It looks kind of bulky.
Well, I won't give up yet and will look for your pictures.

How far are you from Cedartown, Ga?

Well, I had my 3rd opinion on my Cervini's ducktail spoiler and the news was not good. All 3 shops said the very same thing...the spoiler has too much mold release in it. From their experience they would be lucky to get the paint to stick even after all of their special preparation. The recommendation is to return it and try another option.
So...I'll try the Street Scene spoiler but will have to wait till I can afford to have the OEM spoiler holes filled. Another expensive mistake.
I am very disapointed

Sounds like you just got a bad part. Try calling Cervinis and see if they'll replace it. They have a reputation for high quality parts, and this IS the beginning of a new production run.

Yep. One of the shops agreed that the earlier parts would have more mold release than the later ones. I'll contact Cervini's as soon as I can.

Allen,
Hot and rainy this past weekend. On the plus side , no hurricanes so far this year. I probablly shouldn't have said that ... I'm supposed to get the spoiler installed on Wednesday and I'll post some pics as soon as I can. I'll also ask them about the "mold release" , I know they said it takes special steps and that was why it was so expensive ...

Pete, I promiss you will see some pictures this week, towards the end. I have them on video, But for some reason I can't get them to download, so I'm taking pictures with a digital camera. The car is in the body shop right now, and won't come out this time till we're finished. I'm not trying to tease any one, I've been waiting on Keanen, to finish the back bumper. I just want everything to match up perfect. you'll see what I'm talking about, when I post the pictures of before and after.

I'm just hoping its the right size and not overly large and bulbous...

I'm going nuts for a ducktail that fills the stock holes, and cervinis seems a bit large for my tastes....

And with it being described as a 'whale tail' i'm getting a little scared...

I am returning mine for that very reason. It looks like a huge boot on the rear end. Just too much bulk on such a sleek body. I'd feel like a woman always wondering if her "keister" is too big. "Does this spoiler make my a__ look huge?
So I'll wait and get the holes filled (painful $$) and get the SS ducktail. I was dissapointed that this one didn't work out.

Dave ,
it's being done at a place in Pompano Beach called 1st Class Auto. They do all the work for Steeda and they had done work for me in the past through them. I knew they were expensive and that is why I tried another shop first when I got my fiberglass hood. The spoiler is supposed to be installed on Wednesday and I'll take some pictures this weekend and post them on Monday. Is that the new RK sport hood on your car ? I understand they're supposed to fit better than the first ones like mine. I'll keep an eye out for your car on the road ...

Yeah the RK Sport Calif Dream hood - I am actually going back to the shop that painted and installed this friday for two minor touch ups and to have it moved ever so slightly to the right - looks great but I want the seams on both sides to be perfect as possible. They did have to shave the edges near the hinges a bit but other than that, that was it.

When you had your Steeda springs installed, I take it they did it at Steeda? Did you have to have an alignment?

I live in Boynton but work in Boca - you I THINK I might have actually glimpsed your car one day in Boca on a weekend - you ever around Jog road and Clintmore area?....

Dave ,

Yes , Steeda installed the springs and did an alignment at the time. Later on though , the tires started feathering and making road noise so I took it to my regular tire shop. They said either I need to get the Steeda Camber Adjusters or they could put in a notch and bolt to adjust it. I have the shop manual and that was what it described so I had them do it. Other than that I really like the springs. The ride is no harsher than with the stock springs , but you really feel a difference when cornering. I had their Sport Springs on my 1990 and it would jar your fillings out ...

Yes you might have seen me there. I live on Military Trail north of Clintmore and south of Linton Blvd and use Jog Road sometimes ...
