Well, I will be the first to admit that I am a card carrying member of the "Chrome don't get ya home" club. But I got bored looking at that big chunk of aluminum leading to my CAI. So, I pulled it off and sent it to a buddy of mine out of state that owns a polishing business. Few days later he had it back at my front door.
Considering that the C&L intake tube is nothing more than sand cast aluminum I think it turned out pretty OK. Not perfect by any means, but neither is the piece he started with. Just thought I would post a pic.

Now if I could only find a spare set of cam covers and a spare throttle body to send to him!

Thanks man.
Yup, Steeda fuse box cover, Steeda radiator cover, Steeda CAI hanging on the end of that C&L tube too

You still have the amp popping issue or did you get that worked out?

Not yet......it's actually calmed down from what it was. I don't know why. I have the fix though, and the next time I get the dash apart, I'll throw it in. I've had the dash apart so many times, I have to be in the mood now to do it!!!

I was lookin' at the Steeda stuff last night, and I liked the radiator cover, but I have also seen them for like 250 bucks. I was wondering what it looked like in reality. Guess I'll go for it since I ran out of things on the outside and inside of the car to mod......guess I'll go all out and dress the engine compartment up a little. My wallet hurts, but I'm havin' fun!!!!

Yea, the Steeda ones are pretty cheap, $59 if I remember right. Same price for either the brushed or the polished finish. I have also seen some that cover the entire area and not just the raised part like the Steeda. Didn't feel like plopping down that much jack for what it was. Too much a cheap bastard

I think that looks great man

How much did it cost you to polish? I'd like to do the exact same thing when I get mine.

I can check on price. I am sure it wouldn't be more than $50 at the most. He is practically family so I got the family freebie out of it. But I can certainly call and ask a price and if he minds me quoting a price and giving out the business name.
He does pretty much all types of metal polishing including magnesium.

Hey Doc , did you have any problems attaching the C&L intake tube to the Steeda CAI ? I like the looks of the tube , but wasn't sure if it matched up or not ...

You have to adjust the gaskets a little bit to get everything to line up but it wasn't really a big deal. I actually got the idea from the 380hp project over at SHM. They have a Steeda CAI with a C&L intake tube on that car. When I asked them why they did not just use the complete C&L kit their answer was "the Steeda flows better". So, since I already had the Steeda CAI, I figured I would give it a shot.

Looks great! I painted mine the other day. Ford RED. Two coats of high temp paint (RED) then one coat of Ford RED engine paint. Painted all of the bolt heads red too. I even painted the little arrows on the fuse box red, and the C&L on the air filter.
