Good Shorty Antenna?

Anyone have any opinions on the best shorty antenna? I bought a 14" from Stack Racing, but when I put my car cover on the car for the winter, it snapped it off. The car cover has an opening for the antenna, but the cover is also snug, so it just pulled on it a bit.....and "pop", it was snapped at the base. I'd like to find one that looks good, but maybe also has a little flex to it, so it's not quite so brittle.

Make your own out of your stock antenna, that's what I did when I had the 06 and it worked great for years.... never failed, no reception loss that I could tell.

Just take it off next time. It only takes a minute.

In hindsight.....yes. However, now that I have to replace it anyways, I'd like to get one that isn't quite as fragile if possible.

Thanks Tom, sounds like a solid option. When I bought the first antenna, I really didn't shop around or think about it much, just kind of picked up the first one I saw. I may still do some hunting to see all of the options out there.

+1. This is the way to go, other than a bit of time, it won't cost you much to accomplish.

+2... cut antenna to desirable length, then pulled the ball-tip off the cut-off piece and glue back on for an OEM look. 15 minute one "hammer" job.

Agreed on making your own - it is the best option, and what we recommend to customers even though we have the facilities to make them here if we wanted to.

Sounds like making my own is the way to go. I'll just have to do some looking to see if I have an adequate tool to cut the antenna with.

I also agree with the cutting the stock one. Done it on mine and my girlfriend's and neither of us have had any problems at all. Deffinately the way to go.
