I really like these wheels, but it says they are for front wheel drive cars. My question is will they work on the 05 Mustang GT. Anyone know the difference between RWD and FWD wheels?

depends on the offset...What wheels are they?..Cause they look almost identical to the American racing casino wheels that I am selling for the 05 that I decided not to use..

The wheels above are Panther Valera's size is 18x7.5". The offset is +45 and the backside is 6.02".

Here's a pic without the words on it.

While I was looking for the specs on these wheels, I found these in the RWD section.

They are Panther Origin's. The size is 18 x 8.5". Offset on these is +00 (guess that's none) and the backside is 4.75".

The ones for the FWD car will work because they have the +45mm offset. (that's what the stock wheels have) However, assuming you're going to put on 255/45/18 tires, IMO, that wheel (7.5") isn't wide enough.

If you went with the wheels for the RWD car (+00mm offset) they would stick out about 2" from the stock position.

FWD wheels tend to be smaller in width than most RWD rims, but any wheel would work whether its for a FWD Civic or a RWD Mustang. As long as you got the the right offsets then you shouldn't have any problem using those wheels. The first wheels would look sweet and should bolt right up if you have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. It'll look a little weird in the fender wells of your 05 because they are only 7.5" wide.

Well...looks like Stangnut beat me to it!

Of course, when buying FWD wheels, always make sure they put the front wheels on the back of the car.

Thanks for your replys. I agree that the 7.5" wheel is not wide enough, however that's the biggest size (18" x 7.5"). They do come in the 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern. I really like the look of the first wheel the best, but am concerned about the 7.5".

I wish those RWD wheels only had 5 spokes instead of 6, might help them look as good as the others. I definately want 18" wheels.

Dang it, back to looking I guess.

Thanks again,
Valerie

Ah man! I was gonna stick all four on the front and drag the hiney end around !

How would do you decide which ones are the fronts anyways?

Yes they will work ok..they look nice but the width at 7.5 may be a bit on the small side.an 18x8 or larger would be optimum , but they will do..They are really similar to my casino's.

First rims would work but slapping a 255 on it they would bulge a bit. You second choice is a 6 lug rim. No good.

Didn't notice the picture was 6 lug. They do have them in the 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern. The size is 18 x 8.5". Offset on these is +00 and the backside is 4.75".

Thanks for pointing that out tho, the wheel wouldn't look the same with 5 lugs then.
