Fuel Door

I drove my brother's BMW the other day and I decided to be a nice guy and fuel it up for him. I couldn't figure out how to get the fuel door open (actually went back into the car looking for the release like in my Maxima). I finally realized you had to push the door in and then it would pop out. Is there any after-market fuel door for the stang that does this? That would be really cool. If a billet fuel door was manufactured to do this I would be one happy camper.

Any thoughts?

All the ones made in the aftermarket that do that use the "Home Depot" cabinet magnet striker, that pushes in then kicks out. IMHO while this looks somewhat cool, the striker / spring setup is not rated to be outdoors for any length of time, hence why we use cad plated magnets and striker plates in ours. Mostly imported ones will use the striker you're talking about, albeit not the same quality as the BMW, obviously. Add to it that the piece in question takes a bit of room, and while it *could* go, it would be a tight fit on the car.

Just an explanation of why we didn't go that route with ours.

I wish there was a locking version, either with a key or one with an electric release.
