Are front chin spoilers fragile????

Ok guys, here's the deal. Just got my cdc classic chin spoiler last week. Threw it on in no time. GREAT QUALITY PIECE, It's broken already and I clearly haven't hit any curbs or the like.

It would be dishonest to suggest that I haven't scraped gently with aggressive assents, but I'm keeping speeds to a minimum on such situations and it seems really minor. Has anybody else had it break really really easily or am I just a ham fisted driver?

I called cdc this morning to order another spoiler, cuz **** it looks sharp, the woman suggested I speak with their returns guy, but while I was on hold my appointment showed up and I had to hang up. So now, I'm just checking others experiences with the same piece.

Sounds like you got a bad one. I've had mine for 6 months now and even though I've scraped the bottom a few times I've yet to crack it. Now be honest how fast were you going when you got these scrapes??? I have a friend who's driven into parking stops with it and hasn't broken it. It's a pretty durable piece. So either you got a bad one or you were driving like a maniac.

I scraped mine a few times, but it didn't break until an 80mph hit on a retread in the fast lane.

Aren't they ABS or urethane? That should withstand some significant abuse. You probably got a bad one. Fiberglass on the other hand will crack if you look at it funny.

Mine has been through an accident and hitting a huge piece of truck tire on the freeway. The paint was shot , but the spoiler itself was fine ...

I have no idea how it broke. I have been very very careful about not hitting anything. As per how fast I've gone when scraping, I have been crawling vvvveeeerrrryyyy slowly.

I just walked outside my gym to show one of my fighters my spoiler along with my ss grill with center mount lights and BAM...there it was. Shocked the hell out of me!

I scraped mine over a curb the day after I got it back from the body shop. I've also accidentally parked it against a curb so that the spoiler was bent all the way back under, and didn't notice until I came back out to my car a few hours later! It popped right back, and hasn't cracked the paint, either. Sure, I do have a few small chips in it from rocks, and it needs buffing and waxing again after winter, but I've got no cracks at all. It's really well made.

One suggestion on the installtion. I recomend "not" applying the tape on the middle part. This allows the spoiler to rise up if you really hit a curb or speed bump etc. It will not rise up while driving. Ive had mine on over a year without the tape. It really fits snug enough with out it. Had it to 130 mph a couple times as well. Only issues with it is an area about an inch long and 3/16ths high on the bottom of the nose paint scraped off from some minor drive entrance rubs. I have to angle in and out of my work parking lot. Speed bumps have not been an issue, though my car isnt lowered.
