At least it wasn't a speeding ticket, but now I have to put that dumb front plate on :bang: . My situation is a bit different from others though. When I bought the car it already had the dealer plate on the car and I plugged them. Well when I plugged the holes with "buttons" to match the paint the holes got a little wider. Now that I have to mount the plate again the holes would be too big if i pull the plugs out. Does anyone have good way to mount?

Is there a way to put a larger washer behind the bumper to get it to work?

Just velcro it when you go to prove that you have it. Then undo it all.

disclaimer: breaking the law is bad, mmmkay

I don't know how the stock bumper works, but my Street Scene bumper was a perfect match for L brackets. I mounted two of em UNDER the area above the lower grille....and IMO the front plates with chrome frame look really good.

Velcro sounds like a good idea, I doubt they'll get you again for the same thing.

They might...probably will eventually. That's the chance you take if you opt to not install your front plate...

drill a small hole right through the center of the plug and throw a screw in it.

Last year I was pulled over for the same thing. The local cop said if I get
stopped again, there would be a hefty fine for FTC (failure to comply). Once
you've been stopped, your information is in the system. I decieded not to
tempt fate and put the plate on. It actually doesn't look too bad. Here's a shot
I took just fooling around the other day.

I think your right dan, I guess I'll just have to mount the plate where the holes are with some type of bracket behind for the screws to attach, and try to ignore the plate :bang: . Its not worth getting pulled over again, getting a fine and maybe having something else looked at (like exhaust or window tint)

Cops don't make the laws - We pay them to enforce the laws... They're just doing their jobs. Granted, we may not think much of the laws they are enforcing and if that is truly the case, we need to work (vote / write / Call) toward changing things..
