Ford Racing 18” Chrome Bullets

After 15,000 fun miles it was time for a new set of meat. I have been scouring eBay, Craigslist, and the for sale forums for a “deal” for about 6 weeks now. Low and behold I see a set of Ford Racing 18” Chrome Bullets with Toyo Proxes T1-R rubber go up on eBay. The auction started at $1000, was not listed/described well, was for local pickup only, and the seller had zero feedback. I took a chance and offered him $1,100 to end the auction early.

On Friday, a friend of mine accompanied me on a road trip from Dallas to Houston. The transaction went off without a hitch. The wheels are virtually brand new, the tires still had the rubber hairs on them and have less than 500 miles. The guy bought the tires/wheels for his ’05 to try and breathe some life into it, and a few weeks later traded it on a Vette. He obviously just wanted these things gone.

I can’t believe I have these wheels, the Ford 18” bullet is my favorite but I never was a huge fan of polished aluminum. I have been drooling over the Ford Racing 18” Chrome Bullets since I first saw them but I would never drop that kind of coin on simply changing the finish of the wheel. I can’t quite describe the difference, so I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking!

The difference is huge on your car . I like the polished wheels but that clear coat make the wheel look like plastic.
You made a good choice. It looks excellent!

They weigh about the same. Both the polished and chrome versions are aluminum wheels. The chrome versions are plated in chrome, while the polished versions are cleared.
