Flip Down License Plate Holder for GT500?

Hello everyone,

I live in Maryland and I'm tired of getting tickets for not running a front license plate tag. I am currently weighing up my options on what to do. But I know I definitely do not want to drill holes into my front end.

I looked at the Flip Down License Plate Holder found at American Muscle for my '09 Mustang GT Vert with a GT500 front end conversion. American Muscle sent me an email stating that this setup will work with my car because it has a universal mounting kit. However after researching some forums I read that people had clearance issues with this setup. And some had to mount the kit towards the side instead of centrally as I would prefer.

My car is not lowered at the moment. But if I do the suspension upgrade I want my car may be lowered by an inch in the long run.

May I ask if anyone has tried this setup yet? If so could you please give me your opinions on it and possibly show me some pictures?

Thank you kindly for all of your assistance. And please if you know of a better setup, any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again!

If you want a flipping style plate then you are going to have to pretty much settle on the one from american muscle or moss muscle but they are the same kit. I also didnt want to drill holes in my bumper so i got a bracket from craigs custom brackets. Easy install and take off. And no drilling required. There are a few other tyreads on this site that talk about craigs custom brackets. You might consider that.

This is the one I have: http://www.trailerrebuilders.com/services

Not flip down, it attaches underneath the splitter, to existing bolt holes, marring nothing and it removes in about 30 seconds with a couple hex screws for shows, etc, and the strong stainless bracket actually acts somewhat as a skid plate for the lower splitter (which is helpful, my car is lowered about an inch, and I'd much rather have the license bracket brush a steep driveway instead of the splitter getting chewed up).

I actually bought that one, when i got it in, I laid down on the ground and started looking at how it would fit, and didnt like it. there is almost nothing to screw the front end to, and it has to stick out rather far just so it can fold up correctly... So it's not really hidden when it's in the down position.

I ended up settling for one like torch_vert has, not a hide-away, but the cleanest install I found. I got it from somewhere else for cheaper, but I really dont remember where though.

edit: here's one exactly like the one i have for only $40 Link

only pic I have with it on the car:
