Finally bit the bullet on some 2010 mirrors
2010 Mirrors
These look so much better than the stock ones, just did mine today, thanks KC!!
Definately need a dremel, I did the drivers side first and after enlarging the hols and doing some filing I went to the dremel to carve out the holes in the directions needed to line the studs up correctly and the electrical plug. The passengers went smoother as I just dremel'd them out.
I did the plain plastic covers for now.

I did know about the blind spot section on those when I bought mine, I just don't care for it. I test drove a 11' to check out the 5 liter (I FELL IN LOVE FYI) and maybe it's me but I feel those blind spot mirrors are distracting. A properly aligned/positioned mirror I'll take any day.

Thank you! Yes I knew and preferred the 2010. May go painted down the road, who knows. Need the front bumper now!
I failed to mention I bought these from Kevin C. Hats off to you sir great price great shipping great communication!

For you guys that have done the 2010+ side mirror upgrade, does the front corner of the mirror base kind of stick out a little bit? This is the piece that actually attaches to the door. I had it done last year and I am not sure if this is a common issue with this retro-fit or not.

Thanks. I think my problem is that the shops purchased aftermarket versions of the mirrors and not Ford OEM ones, so they are probably not 100% the same. I may just pickup some used sets off of ebay and see how they fit. I know it's trivial but I like things pretty much perfect.
Those mirrors look much better than my 06 stockers, ordered a set this afternoon for $160 shipped. Comes with both black textured and primed covers. I'll paint them and mount them if they come out nice if not at least I have the alternative to use the textured ones.
Thanks for posting this because I probably would never have thought of this.

When you get done with this upgrade you should consider doing your sun visors. The 2012 and up have lighted vanities with a nicer covering. The mirrors themselves are smaller, but the light helps keep the lil' lady happy. Homelink in your visor or added to the center overhead light console are nice adds. I ended up going with the Homelink mirror unit, with compass readouts. These are all great upgrades for our 05-9 S197's. These items all fit with little or no modifications. (I know, I've installed all of them).
In regards to the two shades of Redfire, I had the same experience with Torch Red, (D3) also known as Colorado Red in some circles. Had my quarter window panels painted to match. First time was at least a shade off.
