I'm hearing some not so good things about fiberglass hoods. The two issues that concern me is

warping and the paint not matching the rest of the car, anyone know anything about this?

I'm bummed cause i was ready to buy the rksports ram air hood :bang:

Well, maybe i whould rephrase the question, for the people that have fiberglass hoods, how does the painted hood match the rest of the car?

For years Stang owners dreamed of an aluminum hood.

Getting the paint to match really depends on the shop you get it done at, not the material that the hood is made out of.

I'm with you there

Then they wanted fake scoops and bulges in plastic, just like the old car.

I would NEVER take a cutting wheel or a drill to my aluminum hood. In fact I would like to find a second one to hang in my shop just to look at.

Maybe I would strip it and polish it. ... That would be different.

We have the RK Sport Cali Dreamin hood and had to have it pained twice by 2 different shops. The 1st shop used the wrong base primer so the hood had a red tint to it. The 2nd shop noticed it right away and used the correct base - more of a greenish tint to match the rest of the car. Both shops were at Ford dealerships...

Just make sure you have confidence in howmever you choose to paint items for your car. We do now...

Fiberglass hoods are really cool additions to your mustang, you will most likely need to figure in the cost of hood pins, on the mustang, I believe you will find some posts on this, but you have to remove the bumper cover and head light, there is a predrilled hole on the radiator support that will work for the Cal Dream Hood,

Just my thoughts
