Fender Grand Sport hash marks...Help
One day while surfing TMS found a pic of a S197 with the Vetts Grand Sport hash marks on the fender. You know the ones...two strips at an angle over the front tires but not going on to the hood. I thought that they looked Kick A$$. I wanted to know where to get some because I can not find any for a stang on the web (yes I know they are for the Corvette, but they looked sweet on that S197 I saw).
If you know who sells them please share!

Yeah, I saw that. But they do look good. I think you only need one side and they sell for both sides.
Weren't they only put on driver's side anyway?

Yep. Driver's side only is the Correct way for them. ANY Graphic's company can do it for you. Try Graphic Express, down here in FL. He does excellent work also. Baltimore does quality work also, amd will custom whatever you want.

Fl is not exactly down the street from Houston,Tx. Unless Something bad happened recently?! jk
My wife has a friend that owns a graphic co. around here, I think I will look in to doing it through them. Paying 60 bucks for 2 strips 8\" long is about as dumb as giving your credit card to a 16 year old kid.
Do ya\'ll think doing them is dumb? Doing something that has a long history and symbolizes a Corvette on a Mustang? Don\'t get me wrong, I would have bought a Vette if I could afford one, I just don\'t want people to \"hate\".

I think it started with the '63 racing Vettes, but quickly was adopted by other racing teams for distinguishing their own cars with identical paint jobs. I don't know I wasn't alive then, but that's what I've heard somewhere. Maybe someone more knowledgable can enlighten.

interesting
I was out for a walk sunday afternoon off the main road where I live and saw a blue GT500 pass by with those
realized I had seen him once before and since he was going each way, realized he had them on BOTH sides
On the Vista those red stripes do look good though

actually if you really research it this began with cobras and vettes quickly adopted it. The first round of these however were on cobras and were used to signify which car was pulling into the pit due to whatever differences (i think)

I have been doing some research on them, but all I can come up with is Corvettes. I took a pic of my car and loaded it in paint and drew in black hash marks. The more I look at it the more I like it. I just need to do more indepth research on the history. Don\'t get me wrong I love most American muscle and am a big fan of LSX, but I don\'t want the ignorant GM vs Ford chump to come up to me and try to tell me I am an idiot. I would do them in the fashon that history has it (not just slap them on both sides or the wrong side), sort of my bow to people that have helped make racing everything that it is.
Thanks for the pics 300GT. they do look sweet, but I would have done them in the color of the strips and not in yellow.imo

I also recall hearing about them on the original Cobras. I would look a little harder into it on the Shelby racing end, specifically those Cobras. I think that if you could find them there back then, then that would certainly justify them now.
