I do recommend doing it when it is warm as the tape will be more likely to release without tearing.

Hope this helps, here is mine with replacement medallion.
Do you mean the outer-edge above the keyhole? Or from inside the keyhole?

Top, Inside of keyhole, and work your way around keyhole till it rises enough to get a grip on it. Pulls right up. I did it with my Honeycomb rear blackout panel in place. (I didn't believe either but Marcello said so, and it did.)

Again, I did this eariler in the year and it was much warmer (tape not as brittle), and I took my time. The bend of the 90 degree flatblade (standard craftsman) was just the right angle to give leverage.

You just solved my 2nd dilemma... how to work the badge off when I have a blackout tail panel already in place.

If you use some type of pry bar to get it off that might possibly scratch the paint a little trick you can do is to add a layer of masking tape to the pry bar. That will give you some cushion. but you will still need to be careful with it.

I wouldn`t use any pry point on sheet metal but only a pulling force on the emblem because of the risk of dimpling the sheet metal. Even if you think you`ve cushioned it.

No sir. No heat. But now you may need to use some depending on where you plan to do it at. My "pry point" was the plastic edge of the lock. Keep in mind that a firm steady pulling pressure was kept on it at the same time. Once the edge come up, it pulls off fairly easily.
