Which Ducktail spoiler ?
#1
![Question](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Thinking about getting rid of the stock spoiler and getting a Ducktail spoiler,
I have seen it on some of y'alls 'stangs and it looks GREAT IMO !![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Does ANYONE know which of the available ducktails will cover the holes
from the stock spoiler ?

Cervini's C500 or any of the GT500 style spoilers cover the factory holes. Stillen just came out with one that does. CDC's does if you also use their little brackets. Blow-By Racing/Ronaele's spoiler also does. And finally, Cervini's Mach 1 style spoiler/ducktail combo also covers.
So, there are quite a few options.

Hey D-man bubba
!
I just installed my CDC. Well, it did not cover the wholes so I had to get them closed at the paint/body shop.
But I love the looks of the CDC as it is not so aggressive as the Cervinis. Has more class IMO.

A stock Ford GT500 will not only cover the holes, it uses them. No more holes to drill either. Just get it painted, and bolt it on. Looks great to, IMO.

I like the Cervini C-series duck tail spoiler just waiting for great deal to come my way. Here is a link discussing all the duck tails that do and do not cover the factory holes. I am pretty sure it going to cost 150-200 bones for a body shop to fill in the factory holes.

Stillen,
How much for your ducktail painted and unpainted?

DUSTI,
I've got the Cervini C-Series. Just a few comments.
1. It is noticeably larger than the GT500 or CDC.
2. My car is black and because of its size in the sun I swear the spoiler has a problem wanting to expand, it must be installed perfectly, I had to reinstall to get correct.
3. You will have to drill 4 new holes in trunk to keep the long front edge attached to top of trunk with tape.
4. You will need to drill 2 new holes in the top and sides of rear fender panels to keep the small side pieces installed.
5. You will not reuse existing holes.
I originally stayed away from the CDC because I did not like the brackets for covering the existing holes, but I like the looks of the CDC best.
The Cervini has been the single biggest pain on the entire vehicle, in trying to make it curve to fit the trunk lid and holes it caused some slight undulations in the material that would not even be noticeable if the car was not black.
If I could do it over again, I would go with GT500 for ease of install.
If I did CDC I would remove trunk lid and have a body shop fix the holes in the trunk, or some have said they were able to swap out there new cars trunk lid for say a V6's spoiler delete car and then put the CDC on.
Just my opinion, but now I have like 14 holes in the back of my car and my options for change are very expensive now.

I'm a big fan of the CDC spoiler. I ordered my car spoiler delete so I wouldn't have to fill the holes. Since you have holes from the stock wing I would go with the GT500 spoiler. JMO~

+1 I like your CDC better than my GT500. I wish I could have preordered mine without the spoiler, and I would have gotten the CDC as well. But for ease of install, the GT500 is hard to beat.

Can the GT500 really be considered a ducktail spoiler? To me it looks totally different from the rear. Makes the whole rear end look different.

I want the CDC, but the price is quite high when it is prepainted. Plus covering the holes would suck too. Hopefully I can find someone that wants to swap a spoiler delete trunk with me. I wouldn't just having no spoiler at all either.

Good luck finding one. I've tried for a year and a half now. I will eventually get them filled when I have the GT/CS bumper painted.

Hi, I paid about $1,300 USD for getting the holes covered and the trunk lid painted. It's very good work the paint shop did but the price really sucks. But thats what you gotta pay for excellent work.
Looking at my car now it is definitively worth it.
