Drivers side exterior door window trim help....?

My drivers door exterior trim is damaged.
I ordered a new one but have no idea how to install it.

I noticed the front of it has a good 1.5" peg on the end of it...

Anyone know how to install these? Do I pull the rear view mirror off....??

Help!

Question

This might have something in it that could help you. I think this is the same piece you're talking about?

Almost!! That is the inside piece...Im replacing the other side....
and while I would attempt to slide it out like Bill does, it appears
there is a catch up front on the part.

Looks like I will have to remove the rear view mirror and take a look at it.

Hmmm. Let me know what you find out. I'm actually going to have to replace this same piece. Some overspray got on mine and I was never able to get it back right. Hopefully it's not too much of a pain. Good luck!
