Do spinners spin?
#1
Just a quick question on the 2005 Mustang rim spinners.
Are the spinners suppose to literally spin?
If not is there a way to loose them up so that they spin?
Thanks.

they dont spin freely of the rim like a true "spinner" they just spin with the rim. Do you want bling bling spinners that spin when you come to a stop, i bet someone will make one soon... :spin:
btw it is just my opinion but i dont think Spinners the kind that spin belong on a mustang, but to each his own , and i know sooner or later i will see a 05 with spinners and those hidious rear lights (altezza??) and crome fender gaurds with mud flaps that stick out at a 60% angle.... gotta love the diversity of the auto enthusiast crowd

Ford is selling this option when it is really just a glorified lug nut.
I don't really know if I want them to spin but it would be interesting
to see how it works.
Best to all. KT.

They are called spinners because way back in the day, they were actually welded to the spindle nut and were used to quickly spin the nut off for a rapid tire change. The 05 spinners look a lot like the 65-66 wheel cover spinners. Some folks called them knock off hub caps because you hit them with a hammer to get at the wheel bearings. Others say they came from the roman spinners used on chariots.
