DG quarter louvers and BSM rocker stripes installed!
Steve- Your designs are a hit!
If you can figure out how to produce these at a reasonable cost, they'll sell like hotcakes!
I just can't believe the 2 big names in graphics (BSM and GE) don't produce a real fade stripe. And, the one and only company that does, charges $96.95!

I may have found an easy solution. After looking over some pics of the CS stripe I noticed Ford Cut it into 3 sections. So technically you could order a couple of CS stripes kits and modify them to whatever lenght you want.
Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. Actual CS no PSing on my part.

Only bad news is Ford only made the CS stripes in Black and Matte Black.

Hey Bill, believe me I understand budgets and I refuse to "overpay" on 99.9% of my purchases, but really $100 is pretty small in the big picture of your car....... just my opinion.
Well, I requested a price quote from a custom die-cut vinyl guy and we'll see what he comes back with. I'm glad they were a hit. I have a feeling though that it'll be hard to keep them under $75, given the small run that I'm requesting and the fact that I'm not cutting them myself.
As for the stripes, I think black and white will be our only option. From what I've read, it appears the GT/CS and Mach 1 stripes use dot matrix to give the fade effect, and black and white are the only colors with the contrast to pull off the fade.

Between machine, software, ink and materials, you're looing at about 20K just to get started. We would have to sell about 200 sets at $100 just to break even. We actually have only had about a dozen requests for thermal print graphics in the last three years.

Thanks for the info.
As a side note, BSM produces outstanding automotive grade vinyl stripes and his customer support is second to none!
based on this thread i ordered some dg's a couple weeks back...i talked to the dude a couple days ago and he said that shipping was delayed due to a problem with the paint.
i'll keep you posted.

You see, Rob.. us at the consumer level aren't aware of what it actually costs to produce these types of vinyl graphics, let alone the special machine that's required. I tell ya, $20G's is an eye opener! Can't blame your company for not jumping into this, especially having only a handful of requests for them.
Thanks for the info.

We are rebuilding our site (still gonna be a bit, hope to have the new version up by end of spring) that will allow for a much more customizable kit. We have outgrown our current server and shopping cart package, and are switching over to php. Everyones pics will be right with the item for sale, rather than on separate pages full of cars.
This was neccesary to allow more options for each part of the car.... these days there are so many spoilers, hoods, bumpers, fascias and scoops that we simply cannot cram them all into the current server. We want to allow customers to set the kit up exactly as they want.
We are also switching everything over in our inventory - everything will now be transfer taped. If you order in the near future and want the transfer tape, be sure to let us know, as we still have some of the un-transfer taped items in inventory (referrs to stripes, not rockers, etc... they were already transfer taped) We finally got transferite to make a paper transfer tape that will contour with the graphic - this has been the primary issue, and why most other companies have not run their stripe kits through the bumpers and wrapped around edges.
I expect gloss black and white to all be switched over in a couple weeks, the rest will depend upon product flow.
(still haven't attempted at re-striping my front bumber yet due to the weather still being a bit cold)
Rob, if you figure out how to lay down the front/rear bumper stripes using the transfer tape without the need to heat and stretch it, you'll be a genius! In fact, I may pick up another set of bumper stripes from you again.

LOL I still recommend doing the front bumper without the tape, but try explaining why they are not taped when the rest of the kit is to the average joe.......
Fortunately, the tape is easily removed. I would recommend using the tape to place the initial top of the top piece, let it dry, remove the tape and finish.
